Leadership Notebook Sharing Grade Level Examples
February 4, 2019

“Want to see my Leadership Notebook?” We hear this question all the time when we visit schools—and we love it! Seeing students excited about their Leadership Notebooks and taking ownership of their learning is what Leader in Me is all about. If you are curious as to what these conversations may look like, well, then these videos are for you!

We sat down in four different schools and simply pressed “record” as students at each grade level (K-5, Middle School, and High School) shared their Leadership Notebooks with us.

Note that our role in these video samples is “listener”. They aren’t dialogues, with questions, encouragements, and expressed belief in potential, like we’d expect in a Student-Led Conference. We simply listen while students share.

While we do have solid recommendations on which five tabs to include in a Leadership Notebook (see “Classroom Resources” below for links) , you will notice differences between schools and even, at times, grade levels within school buildings.

Above you will find the video for Kindergarten and below are the videos for Grades 1-5, Middle School, and High School.
